Filo Cookware & Utensils
Following our design of the premium cookware range Porto, Serafino Zani wanted to develop a more economical alternative, which didn’t compromise on cooking performance or practicality. The solution was to retain the same high quality stainless steel bodies with encapsulated induction bases, but create more cost-effective handles and lids. This led to the use of thick stainless steel wire which is bent, welded and polished into a seamless continuous loop. The characteristic handles also influenced the naming, as ‘filo’ means ‘wire’ or ‘thread’ in Italian.
The design approach was also extended to include common cooking utensils, such as ladles, sieves, turners, spatulas, graters and whisks. A matching hanging rail allows the utensils to be conveniently hung near the stove.
The overall result is an elegant, no-nonsense family of pots, pans and utensils, equally suited for everyday domestic and professional use.
